Mrs. Climaco's third grade uses a whole brain, progressive behavior system. The students earn stars for being kind, making good choices, and completing their work. There are 12 levels, and each level requires more stars to pass to the next. The last levels need 40 stars!

For the first time ever, a student passed all 12 levels - Stevie H has completed each of them with his hard work, thoughtfulness, and caring attitude. To complete all the levels, a student has to get 225 stars total. He won a Lego and any book of his choosing! Way to go, Stevie! Great work!!

PEEP! PEEP! PEEP! SAID THE BABY CHICKS.

With a focus on cognitive development and teaching science concepts through exploration, PIP hosted a Group Connection on Thursday morning at the Newman Community Center where families watched eggs hatch in an incubator to become fluffy baby chicks. With eyes wide open, the children enjoyed using their senses to touch the soft feathers of the chicks already running around as well as listening and repeating their chirps. In addition, the littles used dot paint to make chicken crafts and plastic scoops to dig inside a spring-themed sensory bin. Special guest Angie Hunt with Birth to Five was also there and brought information about her group. Everyone loved seeing their friends, playing together and taking home a new book to read.

For more information about PIP and to join, please contact Lori Carroll at 217-921-2502.

Shiloh is proud to recognize the PIP (Partnership in Parenting) team during National Home Visiting Week! A special thank you to Katrina Maxedon, Gaby Becerra, April Morris, Julie Sherer, and Lori Carroll for the incredible work they do supporting families in our community.

Our PIP staff are trained and certified in the Parents as Teachers model, providing services to families with children from prenatal to age three. Through home visits, resources, and support, they help build strong foundations for our youngest learners and their families. We are especially proud that our PIP program has been recognized as a Blue Ribbon Affiliate, placing it among the top-performing programs in the Parents as Teachers international network.

Thank you for the care, dedication, and impact you make every day!

2nd Annual Dine & Dance 💃🕺

Right before spring break, our 3rd–5th grade students enjoyed a special evening at the second annual Dine & Dance! What started last year as a meaningful opportunity to learn and practice manners and social skills has quickly become a favorite tradition.

Students spent time learning and reviewing etiquette, then put those skills into action during a beautifully catered meal. The night wrapped up with dancing, laughter, and plenty of smiles—creating memories our students won’t soon forget.

We are so grateful for the generous donations, dedicated volunteers, and supportive families who made this evening possible. A special thank you to the planning team for their time and effort in creating such a wonderful experience for our students.

The Book Fair is just days away!

The Fair encourages students to read AND raises much-needed funds for our school. The easiest way for kids to shop the Fair is by creating and funding your child’s eWallet. No more worrying about cash, and their balances show right on the register.
