Shiloh CUSD #1 2021-2022 Back to School Plan As we approach next school year, Shiloh Schools will be following the same safety protocols listed below to prevent COVID-19 outbreaks. Plans may change depending on new state guidance and local metrics. Here are key points to the safety plan: • Masks are recommended. • The school district will continue to work with the local health department on informing the public when vaccination clinics are available. • Parents and the public will be welcomed into the school outside of the regular school day during sporting events, concerts, open houses, etc. • Proper spacing, sanitization, and disinfecting will occur on a daily basis. • Remote learning will be only temporarily available if a student is under quarantine. • Temperature checks and symptom screenings will be discontinued. Parents should keep their children home from school if they are sick or exhibiting symptoms. • Good hand hygiene will be strongly encouraged at all grade levels. • Social distancing will be maintained in all school areas to the greatest extent feasible. Additionally, there are points that the State of Illinois still require all school districts to follow. These are not open to local control.  Students will continue to be contact traced by the health department if they are unvaccinated.  Masks will be required on all school buses.  Students will still be excluded from school, along with siblings, if exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. Sincerely, Dr. Allen Hall, Superintendent

We have some corrections and clarifications to the flyer with 2021-22 school year information that was sent out earlier today... * Preschool medical requirements are for new preschool students only. Students who attended Shiloh PreK last year and will attend again this year do not need a new physical, etc. * First year preschool parents also need to provide a copy of a birth certificate, lead screen, proof of income, and proof of residence if they do not have another student currently enrolled. * Kindergarten students who have not attended preschool at Shiloh will also need a copy of birth certificate and proof of residence. * The flyer should have read ***FACE MASKS MAY BE REQUIRED TO BE WORN BY STUDENTS THROUGH THE DAY*** This requirement will be based on the final mandates provided by the Illinois State Board of Education. Currently, the face mask mandate remains in effect. We are waiting for further information to be given by ISBE regarding this mandate. We will share this information as it becomes available.

Summer School wrapped up this week. We hope the kids had as much fun as we did! A huge thank you to our teachers: Mrs. Elizabeth, Mrs. Kohlmeyer, Mrs. Wilhoit, Mrs. Milburn, Ms. Young and Miss Greifenkamp, for running our classrooms. A special thanks to Mrs. Nickell, Mrs. Pam, Mrs. Evans, and Mr. Allen for coming in and doing fun extras like Library, Band, Science and Art. The goal was to have a good time while catching up with some learning we missed out on due to the pandemic, and everyone worked hard to help reach that goal!
