This letter is to notify you that Shiloh is experiencing Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD). At this time, the illness is specific to our preschool students. It is common in infants and children; however, older children and adults can also catch it.
The key to preventing HFMD is to practice good personal hygiene and maintain a clean environment. Once the infection occurs, prompt attention will keep it under control and prevent it from spreading.
Even if only one family member has HFMD, everyone in the household should follow the same sanitary regimen. We should all wash regularly with soap and water.
If you have any further questions or concerns, you can contact our school nurse, Kara Bosch, at 217-531-1850 extension 1019.

A couple of weeks ago Lynn Holm from the Partnership in Parenting (PIP) program came in to speak to Ms. Hendrix's Parenting and Child Development classes. Mrs. Holm talked about the PIP program, what services they offer, and how PIP can help families within the surrounding communities. She also demonstrated different activities that can be done with children to help them develop different skills such as motor and cognitive.

It's getting colder, but we're still going to go outside. Bundle up!

Friday, October 21st is the end of Shiloh's 1st Quarter for 2022-2023 Academic Session!

Each year Mrs. Milburn's 3rd grade class does a persimmon lesson on forecasting winter weather. The students learn about the symbols they base off of the seeds. This year the spoon was the clear winner. If the prediction holds true it will be a winter that has heavy snow that needs to be shoveled.

It's time to listen to the newest episode of the "Shiloh Shout Out!" You'll hear about many of the events happening in this last week of the 1st quarter.

Let's all try to do our best during competitions to provide a positive, enjoyable experience for all.

Fall fun with Mrs. Climaco's 2nd grade!
"This week our field trip had to be rescheduled because of the rain, but we made Jack o'lantern sun catchers and learned about all the ways people use pumpkins - our favorites were Jack o'lantern carving contests and giant pumpkin boat races! (Google those pumpkin boat races if you have time - so funny!)
I also fundraised to get enough money for each student to pick a book from our scholastic book order each month to keep. They were so excited! Here’s a picture of them with their first month’s book picks!"
