PIP welcomed the Douglas County Health Department to the Group Connection held last Wednesday in the PIP Room at the Newman Community Center to recognize National Children’s Dental Health Month. Speaking to families about the importance of twice daily brushing, flossing and dental checkups, Community Outreach Coordinator Summer Phillips enjoyed visiting with the children and letting them practice brushing her dragon’s teeth. Amid giggles as the dragon sometimes “dribbled” water from his mouth, littles learned about their teeth and how to keep them healthy. During craft time, families made valentines and created their own snack mix. Everyone enjoyed seeing their friends and going home with a new toothbrush goodie bag and Valentine-themed book.

✨ Read Across America Week is Coming! ✨
Shiloh families, mark your calendars! We’ll be celebrating Read Across America Week March 2–6, and this year’s theme is:
“Champion Kindness”
Throughout the week, we’ll be celebrating the joy of reading while encouraging our students to be everyday heroes through acts of kindness.
Here are our fun dress-up days:
🟢 Monday – “Happy Birthday!”
Wear green or Dr. Seuss attire as we celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday.
😴 Tuesday – “Bedtime Stories All Day Long”
Students may wear pajamas or comfy attire for a cozy day of reading.
👕 Wednesday – “Read My Shirt”
Wear a shirt with words or letters on it!
🦸 Thursday – “Super Hero Day”
Dress as your favorite hero or wear something that represents a hero to you. Classes will also become Kindness Heroes by completing a random act of kindness together.
🎨 Friday – “Reading Brings Your Imagination to Life”
Wear your class colors or class theme to wrap up our week of celebration!
We can’t wait to see our students champion kindness and celebrate the power of reading together!

The girls begin Regional play on Monday February 16 at 6pm at Shiloh.
