Today, Anita's bus will have a substitute driver who does not know our parents. If your students are younger than 4th grade, please come up to the bus to get them. We want to be sure everyone gets to their destination safely! Thank you!
The weather is getting colder, but we will still be going outside for morning and afternoon recesses as long as the wind chill is above 20 degrees. Please be sure to send your student to school with a coat, hat, and gloves when needed. If you need help getting a coat, please call the office at 217-531-1850 ext. 1 or email the school nurse at boschk@shiloh1.org.

IMPORTANT:
Due to a shortage of bus drivers today, students who ride the Hume/Metcalf bus (Ms. Derby's bus) must wait at the school after the 2:05 dismissal. Dana's bus will pick students up at 2:45 and begin the Hume/Metcalf route. Students will be supervised from 2:05 to 2:45. You are welcome to pick your students up if you would rather not have them wait. Please call or email the Elementary office before 1:30 if you will be picking up your student.
We apologize for the inconvenience. If you know anyone interested in being a substitute bus driver, please send them our way!

*IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM YOUR SCHOOL NURSE*
Several cases of Viral Pneumonia have been reported at Shiloh this week. Viral pneumonia is an infection of your lungs caused by a virus. The most common cause is the flu, but you can also get viral pneumonia from the common cold and other viruses. These nasty germs usually stick to the upper part of your respiratory system. But the trouble starts when they get down into your lungs. Then the air sacs in your lungs get infected and inflamed, and they fill up with fluid. Symptoms of pneumonia can include: Coughing up phlegm or pus, fever, chills, and difficulty breathing. Please keep an eye on your child, if you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical attention promptly. Viral pneumonia is very contagious and can spread easily between people. Contact the school nurse with any questions or concerns you may have. Stay healthy everyone!!
