Shiloh librarian Penny Krabel would like to extend her heartfelt thanks to Shiloh graduate Tori Stierwalt for her generous donations of elementary-level books. This is the second time Tori has contributed, selecting books that inspire young readers to aim high and follow their passions. Tori, a graduate of SIUC, is currently pursuing her doctorate.

Snapshots from a fun-filled field trip for the 3rd and 5th graders! They enjoyed watching 'IF' at the movies and then had a fantastic time eating and playing at Tuscola Park. 🎬🍔🌳
Partnership in Parenting gathered for the May group connection to create their traditional, annual PIP journals. The children were weighed and measured back in September and again this month. Some of the PIP-Squeaks grew as much as three inches!
First, though, they listened to the story, "I Love You as Big as the World" by David Van Buren and Tim Warnes. This rhyming book helped the children learn that the love of their families stretches to the top of the highest mountain, the bottom of the sea, and as far away as a star.
Next, everyone gathered at the table to reminisce over their pictures and artwork from across the year and to start assembling the journals. The children also made handprint Mother's Day cards, and then enjoyed a snack before choosing a book to take home.
PIP's June group connection will be on the 12th at 9:30. They will meet at Newman Regional Library to kick off the summer reading program.

Fast forward to May, where our 6th and 7th graders delved into sea creature investigations, presenting their findings before embarking on an exciting trip to Shedd to meet these creatures in person! 🐠🌊
