Snow Days:
When the weather outside is frightful, and we decide to cancel in-person classes due to inclement weather, you can expect an official announcement through our usual channels:

eLearning Days:
In the event of an eLearning day, where learning continues remotely, we'll share the news using the same communication channels. You can also expect additional instructions from your teachers regarding assignments and schedules.
We understand the importance of timely information, especially during unpredictable weather conditions. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Stay tuned, stay warm, and stay connected!

A round of applause for our outstanding PreK - 8th "Students of the Week" for the second quarter! These remarkable individuals have shone bright with kindness, responsibility, and work ethic. To the families of these students, we extend our gratitude for their support and encouragement.
Our NHS and Junior Beta students came together to ring the bell for the Salvation Army, collecting donations and spreading the spirit of giving this holiday season. Their dedication to community service truly warms our hearts. Thank you for making a difference and embodying the true meaning of the season!

Day 19: As the holiday season reaches its peak, our beloved Principal Elf on the Shelf bids us farewell for now. She's heading back to the North Pole, carrying with her the heartfelt letters to Santa written by our amazing students. 🧝♂️✨
Thank you, Principal Elf, for spreading joy, mischief, and the true spirit of Christmas throughout our school! 🌟🎅 Your magical presence will be missed, but we eagerly await your return next year.
Junior high students unleashing the festive joy before Christmas break! From "snowball" fights to diving into a cozy readathon in a blanket fort and capping it off with holiday movies – the perfect recipe for making lasting memories and spreading cheer.
Season's greetings! This is a joint letter from Shiloh Administration and the executive board of the Shiloh Education Association. We hope everyone has a wonderful Winter Break that is filled with rest, family, joy, and safe travels.
Our teachers, aides, custodians, nurse, counselor, bus drivers, secretaries, cafeteria staff, and coaches are the best around! We have seen their devotion for our students. We’ve learned a lot this semester through collaborating on the power of ICU and accomplishing things with it of which other schools only dream. For example, 100% of missing assignments have been completed in the junior high! We don't have a single student athlete on the ineligibility list in junior high or high school. This is because our staff and students work hard and are dedicated to learning. The ISU tutoring program is another huge benefit to our students, and that is 100% because our tutors are committed to our students. The parties that have been thrown for families and students, all facilitated by our elementary staff, have been amazing and strengthen our relationships with our families and community.
The fun we had during this past month with the Principal Elf, all of the decorations, all of the dress up days, and all of the meals shows the environment that we have built together. We still continue to offer so many opportunities to our students like choir and band concerts, field trips galore, science club, the food baskets, Student council and Jr. Beta Activities, NHS, FFA, FCCLA activities (we even have a student state officer!), journalism club, FCA and many, many more!
We have a school board and staff that genuinely cares about our students. This semester, through working with the union, the board voted to continue to pay 100% of health insurance for staff even though rates increased. When they saw our enrollment numbers rise, they looked immediately for a solution that involved creating a new position and filling it as quickly as possible. They are working hard at goal setting and governance to become the best board they can be while also lowering the tax rate on the levy. This is a position they are not paid for. Lastly, again by working with the union, they are going to approve insurance/sick days for long term floating subs and a pay raise to our bus drivers because there is such a massive shortage. They believe in this school so much they held a special board meeting days before Christmas to help out floating subs and bus drivers.
We are proud of how our school board, staff, and students support one another. It is a very special district. Our admin team and union have a very strong, enjoyable relationship. We hope that you have a safe and enjoyable winter break. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Friday, January 5, 2024.

Day 18: Step aside, elves of ordinary mischief! Our Principal Elf is on a decorating spree, turning the hallways into a festive wonderland with streamers and balloons ! And wait, there's more magic—spot the incredible student who embraced the spirit and dressed up just like our beloved Principal Elf! The festive spirit is contagious!🎉
A reminder that our Winter Concert for 5th Grade Band, Junior High Band and Chorus, and High School Band and Chorus is tomorrow, Thursday, December 21st, at 1:00 pm. The doors will open at 12:45. Please do not arrive before 12:45 as we will not open the doors any earlier due to recess and a shortage of maintenance staff to set up. We can't wait to spread our holiday cheer to our JH and HS families!
Our Hume/Metcalf bus will be late leaving school today. Students will be supervised at school until 2:30 when Dana will return to pick students up and run the route. If you would rather pick your student up at 2:05, contact the office before 1:15 today at 217-531-1850 ext. 1 or via email at weber-hallj@shiloh1.org.
Parents, we do not have a driver for our Hume/Metcalf route today. Bus 15 will be coming back out for these students after dropping off at Shiloh. The bus will be later than normal this morning.

Day 17: Fore! Our mischievous school elf is turning the hallways into a festive fairway, gearing up for a round of Candy Cane Golf! Join the holiday fun as we tee off with a touch of elfin magic. 🎄🏌️♂️

Day 16: Guess who's taking the best seat in the house today? Our mischievous school elf decided to catch all the action from the top of the folded bleachers in the gym! 🏀 Whether it's practice, a class, or just some almost-winter-break antics, our elf has the perfect view.
We apologize for the confusion but there is not a Fresh/Soph boys game at Paris tonight. The Fresh/Soph team plays in the Paris Fresh/Soph Holiday tournament.
