Thank you to Ms. Hackett and members for their hard work this year and for hosting a wonderful FFA banquet!

We may have a future politician on our hands. Junior Bri Reese got to spend a day job shadowing Illinois Senate member Chapin Rose.

A successful Prom and post-prom weekend is in the books!

Here are important end of year dates as well as the approved calendar for the 2023-2024 school year.

Mrs. Milburn's 3rd grade class visited Homer Lake Forest Preserve. The students spent time in the Interpretive Center bird watching, looking at turtles, and learning about animals native to this area. The students then went on a guided nature hike through the forest preserve. Students learned about types of trees, plants, and animal tracks. A picnic lunch finished up the field trip. They had a great spring day.

This week 2nd graders went to Aikman Wildlife Adventure in Arcola. They had a blast learning about the animals that live there, seeing true-to-size prehistoric animals, and getting some extra sunshine!

Partnership in Parenting held their April group connection at the Shiloh Library in honor of National School Library Month. Miss Penny, Shiloh Librarian, hosted the families with a reading of Worm Weather by Jean Taft, a delightful story with a few simple words on each page. The children then enjoyed the song, "Herman the Worm", and found out what happens if you eat 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 too many things - BURP!
The activities of making wiggly worms out of yarn & pasta and digging for colorful worms in the "dirt" sensory bin saw lots of action. The PIP-Squeaks also explored live worms, but there were mixed reactions about these squirming creatures!

Douglas and Edgar Counties officially released the results of the Shiloh CUSD 1 School Board election on April 19. We can officially welcome Kyrie Mixson to the Shiloh School Board! We also want to congratulate incumbents Brian Rhode, April Morris, and Justin Wood for retaining their seats.
Thank you to everyone who ran and voted in our School Board Election. A special thank you to David Smith for all of his great many years on our school board; he did not run in this election.

Reminder: Tomorrow, Thursday, April 20th, is an early 2:05 dismissal. Please make arrangements for early pickups and bus arrivals.

Mollie Pollock, Taylor Williams, Brenden Cash, and Ryder Johnson were recognized for their leadership and academic achievements at the IPA Edgar County breakfast this morning.

Jr. Beta would like to thank everyone who sent in pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. They collected almost 80 pounds of tabs!
