
Today 2nd grade decided to work on a truly lifetime Midwestern skill - filling out March Madness brackets. We learned about comparing numbers, odds, and how likely we are to make a perfect bracket (1 in 120.2 billion).
We’re excited to follow along and see how many right guesses we had at the end of the tournament!




Congratulations to Kenzie Hales! She won an internship through the University of Illinois. There were over 220 applications, and only 30 were selected for the 8-week program.

Shiloh teachers participated in a U of I poverty simulation (read about it here: https://extension.illinois.edu/economic-development/poverty-simulation) and learned about more effective ways of reaching and teaching all learners during the March 10 School Improvement Day.

We want to give a big shout out to Lonnie on Maintenance Worker Appreciation Day! We're grateful to Lonnie and all of our maintenance staff for keeping things safe, clean, and running smoothly.


Winter Sports Award Night for JH and HS winter sports will be held at the Shiloh gym on Monday, March 13th, 2023. Junior High Volleyball and Boys/Girls Basketball awards will begin at 5:30. High School Boys/Girls Basketball awards will begin at 7:00. There will be refreshments and a light dinner provided for both ceremonies.


On Wednesday, March 29, Shiloh PTO and the Shiloh Education Association is hosting "Meet the Candidates" forum from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. The board of education helps establish the direction, goals, and priorities for a school district. This is your opportunity to get to know the six candidates seeking election for the four open board seats.
At this event the candidates will have 2 minutes to answer submitted audience questions that they will receive ahead of time. If you have questions you would like the candidates to address, please email evansp@shiloh1.org by noon on March 10.

The IHSA Foundation is conducting an online 50-50 raffle to help raise scholarship dollars for students across the state. The funds raised will also help support IHSA All-State banquet and IHSA student leadership team efforts.
Fans wishing to participate can simply scan the QR code, and they will be directed on how they can enter the raffle. The raffle pot will grow as more tickets are purchased. The winning ticket will be announced the evening of March 11.
The IHSA Foundation was established to raise funds to support the students within the State of Illinois who participate in high school athletics and activities as members of the Illinois High School Association (IHSA).
The Foundation supports:
*Student-athletes who are in need of financial assistance in order to pursue higher education with the intent to serve as teachers, coaches, and/or officials
*Leadership and diversity events such as the IHSA All-State banquet and IHSA student leadership team efforts
*The growth and expansion of official licensure and retention to sustain opportunities for athletics and activities for Illinois students
