Shiloh families, we have some changes to our after-school extra-curricular events today. Due to the forecast of inclement weather, all after-school activities for elementary and junior high students will end at 4:00 today. This includes tutoring, ICU, play practice, JH Boys basketball practice, JH Girls basketball practice, and any club meetings. In addition, JH Boys will practice at Shiloh rather than at Newman. Shuttles will run at 4:00 and drop off at towns as usual.

Additionally, the 8th Grade Girls Regional game scheduled for tonight at Shiloh is canceled. The first game of regionals will now be scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, December 2nd.

A decision regarding high school co-op sports practices will be made by 2:00 today.

COFFEE FOR MOM & A PLAY SPACE FOR ME!

PIP hosted a Group Connection on Wednesday at the new coffee spot in Tuscola called Hometown Grounds. Not only do they serve coffee and teas, the shop boasts a large, child-friendly play area that entertained the littles as they cooked in the mini kitchen, rode a spring rocking horse, balanced on toy scooters, and pushed around different sized toy trucks and emergency vehicles. Focusing on building receptive language skills, the toddlers had mom or grandma help them glue together a turkey craft and read them a Thanksgiving book. Everyone enjoyed seeing & catching-up with their friends before the busy holiday season starts and heading home with a new book.

Thank you to everyone that donated blood at our drive on November 18! It is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, we were 4 pints short of reaching our goal for our Lifesavings grant this time, but we collected enough to save 32 lives.

Just a reminder that if you would like to give at a donor center, you can credit Shiloh Schools. You can give until December 3rd and be eligible for the next drive. A big congratulations to Ann Titus for reaching a GALLON!

Our next drive will be on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Hope to see you there! Here is the link for you to sign up: https://login.bloodcenter.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/140246.

Our junior high students had an amazing time at Field Trip Day cheering on the Fighting Illini Women’s Basketball team. The energy was high, the experience was unforgettable, and the Illini brought home the win. A huge thank you to Ms. Derby for organizing this annual trip and giving our students such a fun experience. We’re already looking forward to next year!

Please join us in wishing our superintendent, Dr. Wilhoit, the very best as she prepares for a new chapter in her career. After finishing out the school year with us at Shiloh, she will be stepping into the role of Assistant Superintendent in Mattoon next year.

Mrs. Wilhoit has deep roots here—she grew up at Shiloh, graduated from Shiloh, and returned to serve as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. Her dedication to our students, staff, and community has shaped our district in so many ways. We are grateful for her leadership and the countless contributions she has made over the years.

HOLIDAY CRAFTING FUN!

PIP hosted a Moms Mingle event on Thursday at the Newman Community Center where local mothers gathered to retreat, eat some finger foods, laugh with each other, and enjoy painting a holiday-themed door hanger to take home. In addition, special guest Shiloh Art Teacher Randi Pollock was on hand to assist the moms as they tried different painting techniques and stencil placement on their wooden boards. Everyone loved getting out of the house for the evening and spending time relaxing as they let their creative juices flow. To make this event possible, PIP would like to thank the FCCLA students for babysitting and Harvest Ridge Wind Farm for donating money toward the supplies.

Illinois School Board Members Day Today we celebrate and thank the members of the Shiloh School Board for the ways they support our students, staff, and community. This day recognizes the individuals who volunteer their time to help guide our district’s vision, make important decisions for our schools, and ensure that Shiloh continues to grow and thrive. Our board members show their commitment not just in meetings, but in moments that matter - cheering at athletic events, celebrating 8th grade promotion and high school graduation, and being present for the everyday wins that make our district special. To our Board: thank you for your leadership, dedication, and support!
